BAODING, China, July 8, 2026 — As China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, together with 14 other ministries, issued the “Opinions on Strengthening Green and Low-Carbon Construction in Counties and Towns,” the country’s building sector is accelerating its transition toward green and low-carbon development. The policy explicitly states that by 2025, all new urban buildings will be required to meet green building standards, while energy retrofitting of existing buildings will be intensified. Against this backdrop, Baoding Xinhai Plastic Sheet Co., Ltd. Policy Momentum: Green Building Standards Take Full Effect

During China’s 2026 National Energy Conservation Publicity Week, the National Government Offices Administration hosted a special event on energy conservation and carbon reduction in public institutions in Hohhot, showcasing the significant progress achieved during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Data revealed that through the promotion of energy cost management models and energy-saving technologies, energy consumption in public institution buildings has dropped markedly. Meanwhile, BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) technology is transitioning from pilot demonstration to large-scale commercial application, creating urgent demand for the integration of architectural daylighting and energy efficiency.

Xinhai’s Diamond Corrugated Sheet utilizes high-transmittance polycarbonate material with an 85% light transmission rate, maximizing the use of natural daylight and reducing artificial lighting energy consumption by over 30%. Its unique diamond-embossed texture diffuses light to eliminate glare, providing comfortable natural illumination for offices, schools, hospitals, and other spaces with high environmental lighting requirements.

Technical Innovation: Lightweight and High-Strength Reduce Building Loads

Compared to traditional glass skylights, Xinhai’s Diamond Corrugated Sheet has a density of only 1.2 g/cm³—half the weight of glass of the same thickness—yet delivers impact resistance more than 200 times that of standard glass. This characteristic allows large-scale daylighting projects to forgo additional structural steel reinforcement, significantly reducing building loads and construction costs while cutting material consumption and carbon emissions at the source.

The product uses German-imported polycarbonate resin and is manufactured via a co-extrusion process that creates a 50-micron UV protective layer, blocking 99% of ultraviolet radiation and ensuring an outdoor service life of over 10 years. Throughout its full lifecycle, PC sheet is recyclable and reusable, meeting the sustainability requirements of international green building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.
