Corrugated PC Sheet for Roofing & Skylights — Lightweight, Impact-Resistant, 10-Year UV Protection
A thermoplastic roofing panel called a corrugated pc sheet has a wave or trapezoidal design and provides structural stiffness at a fraction of the weight of metal or glass equivalents. The panels are manufactured by Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd, a direct manufacturer with over 30 years’ experience in polycarbonate, 3 production bases and an annual output of over 60,000 tonnes. Thicknesses range from 0.75 mm to 3.0 mm, with light transmission of 12% to 88%, a UV protection rate of 98% to 100% and an anti-yellowing warranty of 10 years.
What Is a Corrugated PC Sheet?
A repeating wave, sinusoidal, or trapezoidal profile is created when a polycarbonate resin is used to make a corrugated PC sheet. The shape of the panel makes it more rigid without making it heavier, which is a big benefit over metal or fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) roofs.
Polycarbonate doesn't break easily like glass or acrylic does. It can take hail, falling objects, and shipping stress without breaking because it is much more resistant to quick impacts than toughened glass or acrylic sheet.
It also naturally handles heat growth because of its curved form. When you drill holes for screws that are 2–3 mm bigger than the screw itself, the sheet can move freely during heat cycles. This lowers the chance of tiny cracks and leaks that can happen with rigid fixing methods.

Materials & Manufacturing
The raw materials are 100% brand-new polycarbonate plastic, and you can choose between foreign SABIC or Bayer grade material, depending on the performance needs of your project.
The UV layer is put on using co-extrusion technology, so it's not just a coating that can come off over time. You can put this 50–100 microns thick layer on either one or both sides of the product to protect it from UV rays, yellowing, and surface wear over its entire useful life.
Available Colors & Profile Options
Clear, Lake Blue, Bronze, Grey, Green, Opal, Amber, Dark Blue, Silver, Orange, and Yellow are some of the standard colours. There are custom colours that can be made to fit specific building needs.
It is easy to find a corrugated PC sheet profile that fits with common metal roofing systems around the world because there are over 70 moulds available, including trapezoidal, round wave, and other profiles. Translucent daylighting panels can be easily attached to metal roof sections that are already there, without having to be specially made.
Application Scenarios
Industrial Skylights & Side-Walling
These panels are put in place of dark metal parts in big steel-frame workshops and buildings to let in natural light. They can stand up to strong winds and vibrations from factories, and they cut down on the need for artificial lights.
Commercial greenhouses and structures for farming
Panels with a high level of clarity let light through evenly in crop environments. It does a much better job of insulating against heat than plastic film covers.
Walkways, Canopies, and Pergolas
Patio covers, carports, and covered walkways can be put up faster and with fewer seams when the effective width is up to 1050 mm. The shape of the profile also helps cut down on rain noise, which is helpful for outdoor areas that people use.
Uses Other People Know
Curtain walls, curtains, sound barriers, walls, hallways, covers for swimming pools, and advertising light boxes are some of the things that are used.
Quality Control Process
Before being shipped, every batch goes through several stages of inspection:
- Yellowness Index (YI) Testing—Accelerated UV ageing tests show that the sheet will stay clear for the full 10-year insurance time.
- Thickness Uniformity—Ultrasonic gauges make sure that the tolerances are the same across the whole width of the profile.
- Hail Impact Test—According to ASTM E822, ice pellets are used to mimic bad weather.
- UV Layer Verification—A microscopic examination shows that the co-extruded UV layer is present and is the right thickness.
- Tensile and flexural strength tests are used to make sure that each corrugated shape meets the mechanical load-bearing requirements.
It has ISO 9001:2015, CE, and RoHS certifications.
Customization & OEM / ODM Services
Sinhai can do both OEM and ODM production, which includes:
- Unique sheet sizes made with CNC cutting
- Custom colours and coatings for films
- Cutting in smaller pieces for certain projects
- We do 3D modelling, bending, cutting into custom shapes, vacuum forming, and thermoforming.
Buyers who want to sell to markets in Central Asia can get goods from the Kashgar production base in about 7 days. For faster regional fulfilment, there are local warehouses in Tashkent and Dushanbe. Orders for regular production are usually finished in one week.
Installation Tips
- To keep water out, bolts should always be placed at the crest (top of the wave), never the dip.
- As a general rule, use 5–6 screws per purlin for a 1050 mm-wide sheet.
- To allow for thermal movement, drill holes that are 2–3 mm bigger than the screw's diameter ahead of time.
- Do not walk on the sheets straight on. Spread out your crawl boards or ladders so they can go across the support purlins.
- To clean, use a soft cloth, light soap, and water. Cleaners that are alkaline or rough can damage the UV covering, so stay away from them.
FAQ
Q1: Will it fit my current metal roof profile?
A: We have approximately 70 distinct profile moulds – trapezoidal, round wave and other conventional forms – to fit the profiles of the metal roofing of the world.
Q2: Does the sheet grow and compress in sun?
A: Yes , polycarbonate has a measured rate of thermal expansion . Pre-drill the holes for the fasteners 2-3 mm bigger than the screw diameter, so that the sheet may move freely without breaking.
Q3: How many screws per sheet?
A: For a regular 1050 mm wide sheet we propose 5 to 6 screws per purlin. Never fix on the crest as this will leak.
Q4: Can it hold a human's weight?
A: No. Do not walk or stand on any corrugated sheets. Always utilise roof planks or ladders that bridge the structural purlins.
Q5: How long until it turns to yellow?
A: Co-extruded UV protection layer offers 98% - 100% UV blocking. The products are protected by a ten-year guarantee against yellowing and certified to ASTM D1003 to maintain light transmittance.
