Product Description

Corrugated Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet 1.5mm Greenhouse Panels — High-Transmission, Weather-Resistant Glazing for Agricultural & Industrial Use

Corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet 1.5mm greenhouse panels from Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. provide 80%-88% light transmission and a service temperature range of -40°C to +120°C. At 1.5mm thick, they have over 40% more structural load capacity than ordinary 1.0mm sheets, making these panels a viable alternative for commercial greenhouses, industrial skylights, carports and farm buildings where durability and continuous light performance are key.

Why 1.5mm Thickness?

The 1.5mm gauge is a step up from 0.8mm or 1.0mm alternatives commonly used in lighter DIY applications. The corrugated profile — available in sine wave or trapezoidal — adds longitudinal rigidity, allowing longer spans between purlins and reducing installation material requirements.

Impact strength is approximately 250 times that of glass and 30 times that of acrylic. In demanding environments, this translates to reliable performance under hailstorms, wind-driven debris, and heavy rain without cracking or shattering.

UV Protection: Co-Extruded, Not Sprayed

Corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet 1.5mm greenhouse panels have the UV protection layer co-extruded into the very surface of the sheet as it is made, producing a chemical bond, not a surface coating that is applied after the fact. This technique blocks the UV radiation that causes yellowing in the panel, therefore preventing polymer breakdown over time. The layer is 50 to 100 microns thick, and may be applied to one side or both sides.

We check performance in QUV accelerated weathering chambers with delta E (colour change) and Yellowness Index changes against defined exposure requirements.

Application Scenarios

Commercial Multi-Span Greenhouses: 80%-88% light transmittance to provide PAR for plant growth. The greenhouse panel type of 1.5mm corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet may be used with traditional steel frame systems and can endure the humidity and heat cycling of year-round agricultural operations.

Industrial Warehousing & Skylights The 1.5mm profile resists structural stresses and chemical fumes exposure that would harm thinner choices. It is designed to fit directly into regular metal roofing systems without modification.

Animal Housing: The panels are resistant to the corrosive ammonia fumes of poultry and swine farms. It is smooth enough for frequent washing and sanitising.

Other Uses: The established track record of this panel type is in carports, farm buildings, passageways, canopies and pergolas.

Profile Options & Customization

We have over 70 profile moulds including trapezoidal, round wave and more to fit typical worldwide metal roofing profiles. Support OEM and ODM service , such as CNC cutting , film coating customisation , bending , special-shaped cutting . For non standard profiles tooling possibilities might be considered based on your drawings or samples.

We can provide 3D design help for pre-installation visualisation upon request.

Quality Inspection Process

The inspection includes reception of raw materials, in-process manufacturing and pre-shipment inspection. Key things are:

  • Micrometre thickness verification – measured at the peak, valley and slope of the corrugation UV layer mapping – tiny cross sections validate uniformity and depth of the co-extruded layer
  • Impact Resistance Test, ASTM D5420 (Gardner Impact)
  • Light transmission spectrophotometry – PAR transmission, tested to confirm consistency
  • Accelerated weathering – QUV chamber testing with Delta E and YI monitoring

Installation Guidelines

They are compatible with ordinary steel trapezoidal purlins and are fastened with self drilling screws . Always tighten at the crest (top of the wave) to insure a watertight seal. For a normal 1050mm wide sheet use 5-6 screws per purlin line.

For corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet 1.5mm greenhouse panels, polycarbonate can expand more than metal with temperature fluctuations, therefore pre-drill holes for fasteners 2–3mm bigger than the screw diameter to allow for movement without buckling or breaking.

Can be cold curved for arching shapes. For conventional wave profiles, the minimum bending radius is approx. 4 m (at least 175 times the sheet thickness) to prevent stress cracking.

Supply & Logistics

Sinhai has 3 manufacturing locations and 25+ production lines, with an annual output of more than 60,000 tonnes. Standard orders normally take around 7 days to fulfil.

Kashgar manufacturing bases are for Central Asian consumers, delivery to Middle Asian nations in around 7 days. In an effort to shorten lead time for regional clients we have warehouses in Tashkent and Dushanbe. International shipping by marine, truck and air freight, customs clearance and cross border paperwork help.

FAQ

Q1: Can these sheets work with my current profile of metal roof

A: We have more than 70 profile moulds to choose from, such as trapezoidal, round wave, and other typical shapes. OEM tooling may be spoken about for non-standard profiles.

Q2: Why chose 1.5mm instead of thinner?

A: The 1.5mm gauge gives around 40% more load capacity than the 1.0mm sheets, so there is less potential for deflection or blow-off in adverse weather – a critical factor for commercial greenhouse and industrial roofing applications.

Q3: What is the best way to deal with thermal expansion in installation?

A: Pre-drill the holes for the fasteners 2–3mm bigger than the screw diameter. This will allow the sheet to move freely with temperature fluctuations and not fracture or buckle.

Q4: How many screws per plate are needed?

A: 5-6 screws per purlin line, always at the top of the wave, not in the trough.

Q5: Are these panels suitable for curved roofs?

A: Cold bending along the length is feasible with a minimum bend radius of around 4 meters for conventional wave profiles, i.e. at least 175 times the thickness of the sheet.

Q6: What warranty are these panels covered by?

A: We provide a 10-year limited guarantee on panels produced of 100% virgin resin.
