Diamond Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet — Embossed Wavy & Trapezoidal Roofing Sheet with 10–20 Year Weatherability
Diamond corrugated polycarbonate sheet is a blend of micro prism embossed diamond surface with wave and trapezoidal corrugated shapes that give structural stiffness and controlled light dispersion. Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd . Is a direct manufacturer with 30 years experience in the polycarbonate industry . Three production bases , 25 production lines , annual output of more than 60,000 tonnes . 2.0-3.0mm thickness available , 10-20years documented warranty on outdoor weatherability.
What Is Diamond Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet?
This sheet has a micro-prism embossed diamond texture on one side, along with a corrugated profile of wavy or trapezoidal shape. The embossed surface distributes the incoming sunlight, decreasing the concentration of glare and creating a soft, more uniform light distribution inside the interior area below.
This style is different from normal flat or transparent corrugated sheets and is more appropriate for areas where visual comfort and light quality are important as well as protection from the elements. Common uses include garden shelters, carport canopies, factory skylights and covered pathways.
The ribs are corrugated to provide structural rigidity under wind and snow stresses. The diamond embossed surface also helps to hide small surface scratches and water spots as they occur.

Material & UV Protection
Each Diamond corrugated polycarbonate sheet is made from 100% fresh virgin polycarbonate resin. SABIC or Bayer resin is also available for applications requiring verified raw material traceability.
The UV protection is provided using a co-extrusion method which bonds the UV-inhibitor layer directly to the surface of the sheet at a thickness of 50 to 101 microns. It is structurally distinct from a spray-applied topcoat since the co-extruded layer is part of the sheet, not on top of it.
This UV layer is intended to reduce UV-induced yellowing and surface deterioration during the product’s defined service life.

Performance Properties
Falling Dart Impact (ASTM D3763) test shows impact strength 250 times that of glass and 30 times that of acrylic. The material can withstand abrupt impacts such as hail without fracturing.
The rated service temperature range of -40°C to +120°C allows it to be used in both cold-winter and high-heat areas, retaining dimensional stability during the seasonal temperature variations characteristic of a roofing exposure.
Yellowing index (ΔYI) performance is monitored over time using accelerated weathering tests (ASTM G154) Fire behaviour testing in accordance with UL 94 or EN 13501-1 depending on the target market and project requirements.

Application Scenarios
Diamond corrugated polycarbonate sheet is used in residential, commercial and industrial applications:
- Roofing & Industrial Sheds — The corrugated shape is designed to match normal spacing on steel sheets, making it a direct replacement or complement to factory roofs, warehouse skylights and carport canopies.
- Fences & Gates — The diamond emboss has a faceted, beautiful finish suited for privacy screens and perimeter fences where look is a factor.
- Balcony Screens & Pergolas Partial shade and diffused light not totally obscured sightlines.
- Commercial Agriculture — The textured surface in greenhouse applications gives out diffused light which helps minimise direct light stress on the crops.
- Corridors & Canopies – Used in the West Asia, Hong Kong and South American markets for both decorative impact and practical weather protection.

Quality Control
There are inspection sites for incoming raw materials, in-process manufacturing and final dispatch. During manufacturing, automated ultrasonic thickness gauges are used to check corrugation dimensional homogeneity across peaks and valleys.
Some of the key indications include monitoring of impact resistance, light transmittance, flame retardancy and weathering resistance, with testing procedures matched to ISO and other appropriate international standards.

Customization & Supply Options
Over 70 free moulds are offered spanning many corrugation profiles in both wavy and trapezoidal forms. No tooling charges for typical profiles. This enables the sheet to be matched with current steel roofing systems without further expenditure.
OEM and ODM services include CNC cutting, film coating customisation, bending, special-shaped cutting, colour matching. Orders in smaller quantities are welcome.
We usually need 7 days to fulfil standard orders. The Kashgar manufacturing base is able to supply to Central Asia consumers in roughly 7 days, with local warehouse assistance in Tashkent and Dushanbe.
FAQ
Q1: Why choose diamond embossed over standard clear corrugated?
A: The embossed surface introduces a faceted texture that reflects light differently than a flat clear sheet, reducing visible glare and making surface scratches less noticeable. For sheds, pergolas, and covered walkways, this also produces a softer light quality inside the space.
Q2: What colors are available?
A: Standard options include transparent, bronze, grey, lake blue, amber, opal, dark blue, silver, orange, and yellow. Custom colors are available based on project requirements.
Q3: Is it waterproof?
A: Yes. The sheet is fully waterproof and is designed for use as a weather barrier in roofing and cladding applications. Contact us if you need installation detail guidance for your specific profile and pitch.
Q4: Which markets use it most?
A: West Asia, Hong Kong, and South American markets show consistent demand, particularly where both decorative appearance and impact resistance are required.
Q5: How long can it last?
A: A 10–20 year weatherability warranty applies under normal outdoor installation conditions. Actual service life depends on installation quality, climate, and maintenance.
Q6: Which side should face the sun?
A: The UV-protected side — usually identified by the protective film marking — must face the sun. The diamond embossed face is typically oriented downward to maximize light diffusion into the space below.
