Polycarbonate Aluminum Accessories for PC Sheets — Structural Fixing & Weather Sealing Solution
Polycarbonate aluminum accessories are structural profiles used to fix and seal polycarbonate sheets in architectural and industrial applications. Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has more than 30 years of expertise in the manufacture of polycarbonate, with 3 production bases and 25 production lines, and an annual output of over 60,000 tonnes. The aluminium profile systems shown here are suitable for panel thicknesses from 4 mm up to 20 mm and are available in H-connector, U-sealer, F-profile and layering bar versions.
What Are Polycarbonate Aluminum Accessories?
These polycarbonate aluminum accessories are particularly designed for polycarbonate sheeting to provide a comprehensive structural glazing system comprising H-profiles, U-edge sealers, F-sections and snap connections.
Aluminium profiles are not just simple plastic fasteners that don’t solve actual installation problems. Polycarbonate has strong thermal expansion coefficient up to 0.065 mm/m °C. If the profile system is not suitable, the sheets might be deformed, cracked or emit stress noise when the temperature changes.
These profiles are fabricated from 6063-T5 aluminium alloy and provide a tensile strength of 160 MPa and yield strength of 110 MPa, joining flexible glass panels to strong building frames.
Profile Types & Functions
H-Connector (Two-Piece: Base + Cap)
For joining 2 polycarbonate sheets side-by-side. The base and cap design enables the sheets to be put flat first, then secured in place. Expansion gaps designed to allow sheet movement without noise or stress cracking
U-Edge Sealant
Over open ends of hollow or multiwall PC sheets. It prevents dust, insects and moisture getting into the sheet flutes, where algae often develops and where internal condensation might occur.
F-Profile
Used at corners and connections to walls. It offers a smooth completed edge where the sheet meets a vertical wall or frame structure.
Bars Stacking
Used to provide uniform clamping pressure throughout the surface of the sheet, especially for wide span roofing applications where resistance to wind uplift is essential.

Surface Treatment Options
Mill Finish is the raw extruded surface that can be used inside or in a protected area where looks are not important.
Anodised (Silver) metal has a hard oxide layer that is at least 10–15 microns thick. It doesn't rust in salty or seaside areas and keeps its look without having to be painted again.
Powder coating uses coatings that are 60 to 80 microns thick and come in custom colours for projects that need to match the colour of building facades. ASTM D3359 cross-hatch tape testing is used to make sure that the coating sticks well.
All three styles block UV light at the edge of the sheet, which helps keep polycarbonate from turning yellow and becoming weak.
Key Performance Features
- Thermal movement control: EPDM sheets can slide along their lengths during heat cycles because they have built-in seal holes. Incorrectly fitting systems make clicking or popping sounds, but this stops them.
- Anti-corrosion: Profiles are tested to meet ASTM B117 salt spray standards, so they can be used in wet places like factories or by the sea.
- Structure stiffness: Walls that are between 1.2 mm and 2.5 mm thick keep glazing bolts from coming loose in snow and wind.
- Highly accurate measurements: profiles are checked against ISO 2768-m standards for accuracy to make sure that sheets fit perfectly and don't have any holes or stress points.
Typical Application Areas
For greenhouse complexes, Polycarbonate aluminum accessories such as U-shaped profiles with drainage channels help keep algae from growing inside sheet flutes in places with a lot of humidity.
Industrial Skylights: The aluminium profile system makes a strong seal that can handle chemical fumes and the shaking of factory roof machines.
When installing a big roof over a train track or a sports area, you need H-connectors and stacking bars that can handle wind lifting and specific pressure loads.
There are connections in commercial canopies and pergolas that are weatherproof and stay strong even when the weather changes. These connections are made with F-profiles and H-connectors.
When you use layering bars on curtain walls and partitions, the tighter pressure stays the same across large glass areas. This makes the structure and look better.
Quality Control Process
Each batch is checked at several different stages:
- Checking the size margin with digital callipers against ISO 2768-m standards
- Using the ASTM D3359 cross-hatch tape method to test the adhesion of the coating
- ASTM B117 tests for salt spray corrosion
- Checking the gasket gap to make sure it fits properly with the EPDM strip size

FAQ
Q1: My PC sheets are making loud popping noises in the afternoon. What's causing this?
A: This is thermal expansion noise. PC sheets expand as they heat up. If the H-profile is too tight or screw holes leave no clearance, the sheet pushes against the fasteners. Using H-profiles with built-in expansion gaps helps eliminate this issue.
Q2: Do you keep these profiles in stock?
A: Yes. These are regular catalog accessories. Standard orders can typically ship without waiting for a new production run.
Q3: Can the 6m profiles be cut to 3m?
A: Yes. A cutting service to 3m or other specified lengths is available — just include your requirements when placing an order.
Q4: Can you ship directly to my freight forwarder's warehouse?
A: Yes. Delivery to a nominated warehouse address is fully supported.
Q5: Are these profiles compatible with both hollow and solid PC sheets?
A: Yes. The H-connector, U-sealer, and F-profile range fits panel thicknesses from 4mm to 20mm, covering most hollow multiwall and solid polycarbonate sheet configurations.
