Polycarbonate Blatt Aluminium Profile for PC Sheet Systems
The success or failure of a polycarbonate installation will depend on the joints and thus on the choice of the proper frame system. A structural element designed to hold, seal, and support PC sheets in architectural glazing is called a polycarbonate blatt aluminium profile. The aluminium alloy profiles are manufactured by Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. They are anodised or powder coated and suitable for panel thickness 4 mm-20 mm. Standard length is 6 m and there are six kinds of profiles for various installation locations.
What Is a Polycarbonate Blatt Aluminium Profile?
This sort of profile is the important contact between the substructure and the glazing material. It accommodates the differential thermal expansion of plastic and metal, inhibits water penetration at joints, and provides structural integrity under wind or snow loads.
Engineering core features:
- Dedicated gasket tracks for EPDM or TPE seal
- Integrated drainage canals for water-tight finish
- Multi-cavity design for increased stiffness without extra weight
Without the correct profile system, PC sheets might move, leak or break at attaching places – especially in areas with severe temperature changes.
Material and Surface Treatment
Polycarbonate blatt aluminium profiles are composed of aluminium alloy. There are two surface treatment options:
- Anodised (Silver) Standard anodising thickness of 10-15 microns; Provides corrosion resistance for outdoor exposure.
- Powder Coated (Custom Colours) Coating Thickness 60-80 Microns Perfect for colour matched architecture projects
Both finishes are cross-cut adhesion tested and ASTM B117 salt spray tested for coating durability. The rated outdoor service life is 10 years when properly fitted.

Profile Types Explained
H-Connector (Two-Piece: Base + Cap)
Sometimes used to unite two opposing sheets. The base is initially secured to the substructure, then the cap clips over after the sheets are in place. Built-built expansion gaps allow for thermal movement in PC sheets. This means less tension on the areas where they are fastened.
U-Edge Profile
Applied to the open ends of hollow PC sheets to keep dust, insects and moisture from entering the interior flutes, a typical cause of early yellowing and internal condensation.
F Profile
For corners and wall-side terminations. It gives a polished edge at the meeting point of the sheet with a wall or vertical surface and helps keep out wind-driven rain.
Layering Bar, Ridge and Eave Profiles
Used in more sophisticated roofing systems such as greenhouse roofs, canopy ridgelines and eave drainage features. All six varieties of profiles may be bought together in one shipment.
Application Scenarios
In commercial and industrial constructions, the polycarbonate blatt aluminium profile system is employed.
- Commercial Skylights and Stadium Roofing Large span glazing demands a sturdy structural system that can withstand wind-load effects and heat cycling without leaking.
- Industrial Greenhouse Enclosures: Corrosion-resistant profiles are a must in high humidity and chemical-exposed settings to prevent the deterioration of PC sheet edges.
- Acoustic Barriers Along Roads and Railroads: Profiles must be sufficiently gripping to hold heavy gauge solid PC sheets against continual vibration and pressure pulses.
- Canopies, Pergolas and Corridor Roofing Uses when weather resistance must be balanced against structural performance.
- Curtain Walls & Partitions, F & H profiles give elegant lines and structural support for vertical glass.
Quality Control
Before export, each manufacturing batch is subjected to the following inspection stages:
- Dimensional Tolerance Check – Wall thickness and gasket groove accuracy are checked by CNC coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure PC sheet fit.
- Surface Integrity Testing – Cross-cut adhesion tests & ASTM B117 salt spray tests demonstrate coating durability.
- Mechanical Performance - Tensile and yield strength tests demonstrate load-bearing capabilities.
- Seal Compatibility Testing — Shore A hardness testing of gaskets measures long-term elasticity and compression resistance.
- Chemical Resistance Evaluation – The finish is tested for compatibility with building sealants to minimise stress cracking at the interface.
Products are supported with ISO 9001:2015, CE, RoHS and UDEM certificates to meet European and worldwide market compliance standards.

FAQ
Q1: My sheets are making loud popping noises in the afternoon. What causes this?
A: This is thermal expansion noise. PC sheets expand when heated. If screw holes are undersized or the H-profile is too tight, the sheet jumps against the fasteners. Pre-drilling holes 2 mm larger than the screw shank and using H-profiles with built-in expansion gaps addresses this issue.
Q2: Are profiles available in stock?
A: Yes. Standard profiles are kept in warehouse stock with sufficient quantity available for prompt dispatch.
Q3: Can profiles be cut to 3 m lengths?
A: Yes. Stock comes in standard 6 m lengths. Cutting to 3 m or other custom lengths is available as a service.
Q4: Can you ship directly to a freight forwarder's warehouse?
A: Yes. Delivery to a nominated warehouse is supported.
Q5: How long do these profiles last outdoors?
A: The anodized and powder-coated finishes are rated for 10 years of outdoor durability with correct installation.
Q6: What maintenance do the profiles require?
A: Minimal maintenance is needed. Periodic cleaning with pH-neutral detergent keeps the finish in good condition and ensures drainage channels remain clear of debris.
