Anti-Static Hollow Polycarbonate Sheet — ESD Protection for Clean Rooms and Electronics Facilities
When structural strength and static control are required for delicate electronics, cleanroom walls, or hazardous area barriers, anti-static hollow polycarbonate sheet provides a measured answer. By surface coating or inner additive compounding way, the electrostatic dissipative (ESD) technology is included into multi-wall hollow structure, which makes the surface resistivity of the whole sheet in the range of 10⁶–10⁹ Ω. It provides regulated charge dissipation, strong impact strength and usable light transmission in one manufactured panel.
What Is Anti-Static Hollow Polycarbonate Sheet?
In regular polycarbonate sheets static charges build up over time collecting airborne dust, and might provide a discharge danger near sensitive components. Anti-static hollow polycarbonate sheet solves this problem by including ESD protection inside the hollow multi-wall structure itself, so that the sheet dissipates charges at a steady state rather than allowing charge build-up.
Surface resistivity is maintained in the range of 10⁶–10⁹ Ω and confirmed to ASTM D257. The sheet also possesses GB8624 Class B1 and UL94 V-2 fire ratings and is thus suitable for use in facilities requiring fire compliance as well as static control.

Key Performance Features
Measurable control of ESD. The surface resistivity is kept in between 10^6 and 10^9 Ohm which dissipates the charges in a regulated way without becoming totally conductive. This prevents harm to sensitive devices from discharge and stops the surface from gathering dust.
Reliable operation at all humidity levels. This sheet will not lose its ESD qualities in low humidity conditions like other surface treated alternatives, when ambient moisture declines, so to does the effectiveness of the material.
Benefits of a hollow structure The hollow multi-wall design means a lighter weight sheet than solid PC for the same thickness. Twinwall configurations have a U-value of around 3.3 W/m²K, multiwall configurations a U-value of about 1.6 W/m²K; this enables thermal insulation in climate-controlled areas.
Built-in UV protection. The 50 μm co-extruded UV layer filters more than 98% UV light below 380 nm, which slows yellowing and surface deterioration. For the interior, clean and well-lit, light transmission is maintained at 70%–80%.
Fire safety standards. The sheet is rated GB8624 Class B1 and UL94 V-2 meeting fire regulations for public buildings and industrial facilities where code compliance is specified.
Quality Control
Every batch of merchandise is subject to a prescribed series of inspections before it is shipped.
- Surface Resistivity (ASTM D257) - measured by a calibrated megohmmeter over the whole surface of the sheet to verify homogeneity in the 10^6-10^9Ω range.
- Static Decay Time (FTMS 101C, Method 4046) - measures how quickly the material discharges an applied 5,000 volt charge.
- Coating adhesion (ASTM D3359) - Cross cut tape test conducted on surface coated versions to ensure that the anti-static layer does not delaminate in high airflow environments.
- Dimensional Stability and Rib Consistency – verifies that the wall thickness and rib spacing are within the design limitations for consistent loading behaviour.
- Optical Haze and Yellowness Index (ASTM E313) - to confirm that light transmission and colour stability fulfil the standards after UV exposure testing.
Application Scenarios
Semiconductor & electronic manufacturing. With a controlled surface resistivity, the sheet eliminates static discharge in the vicinity of wafers and circuit boards in cleanroom partitions and machine enclosures, while its hollow design keeps weight down for large panels.
ATE enclosures. We use a hollow wall construction for acoustic isolation around high frequency test circuits with a sound reduction of 30 dB+. The anti-static surface prevents charge build-up that might interfere with readings.
Handling hazardous chemicals. ESD layer removes an ignition source which may be found in zones containing volatile vapours or flammable fine particles (sight windows, protective barriers, etc.). The 850 J/m impact rating provides the mechanical protection for humans and equipment.
General industrial and commercial enclosures The combination of thermal insulation, light transmission, and static control that anti-static hollow polycarbonate sheet offers in a single panel is beneficial for electronics factory roofs, cleanroom ceilings, interior partitions, and controlled-environment coverings.
Customization and Supply
Processing possibilities include CNC cutting, film coating customisation, bending, special-shaped cutting, vacuum shaping, and thermoforming. (OEM & ODM orders are welcomed). Standard panel width is 2,100 mm but we also provide 1,050 mm and 1,220 mm widths. The length is shortened as you requested.
The Kashgar manufacturing base sells in Central Asian markets. The warehouses in Tashkent and Dushanbe are reserved for the regional customers. Depending on location and project timeframe we may ship by boat, truck or air.

FAQ
Q: What is the effect of ambient humidity on ESD performance?
A: The sheet is intended to retain stable resistivity in the 10^6-10^9 Ω range even under low humidity settings which is a recognised shortcoming of certain surface-only treated alternatives.
Q: Are the sheets cold bendable for machine coverings?
A: Yes. Standard PC cold bending is supported; minimum bend radius must be at least 175 times the sheet thickness to prevent stress-crazing the anti-static coating.
Q: How can I clean the surface without damaging the ESD properties?
A: Use a soft cloth with a neutral detergent or an ESD safe cleaning solution. Do not use abrasive chemicals or high concentration alcohols as they will cause degradation of surface applied anti-static coatings.
Q: How long does the anti-static function last?
A: ESD characteristics will be anticipated to be maintained for 5-10 years under normal indoor cleanroom circumstances. Actual service life depends on whether the treatment is an integrated additive compounded or a surface coating, and on the cleaning and handling standards in the plant.
Q: What are the alternatives in construction and thickness?
A: Twinwall, triple-wall, four-wall, honeycomb and X-structure are all manufactured. Typical thicknesses are 4 mm to 25 mm. When sending a question, specify your aim so that the most suited setup may be advised.
