Bamboo Polycarbonate Sheet — Multi-Rib Decorative PC Panel for Sunrooms, Canopies & Architectural Projects
Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing polycarbonate panel for 30+ years in 3 production bases, with 25+ production lines and yearly output above 60,000 tonnes. This bamboo polycarbonate sheet is made of 100% virgin PC resin and has a self-patented multi-rib bamboo-like structure, providing architects, builders and distributors with a panel which blends visual warmth with the durability polycarbonate is renowned for. The thickness varies from 3 mm to 12 mm with a light transmission of 60% to 80%.
What Is a Bamboo Polycarbonate Sheet?
Because it rots when it gets wet, fades in the sun, and can be damaged by insects, real bamboo is not good for outdoor architecture. To solve this problem, a bamboo polycarbonate sheet is made by injecting polycarbonate resin into a ribbed panel shape that looks like bamboo and covering it with a UV-stabilized layer that was also co-extruded.
Up to +120°C, the panel can work, and it's 250 times stronger than glass when it comes to impact resistance. For outdoor roofs, canopies, and walkways with coverings, these qualities make it a good choice. Natural materials would need to be maintained or replaced more often.
Key Product Features
Different from regular empty PC sheets, this panel has a structure that looks like bamboo with many ribs. If you want your porch, garden shelter, or hospitality roof to look warm and natural, this bamboo roofing fits right in because each rib has a decorative bamboo shape.
Soft, diffused light instead of direct glare is produced by light transmission levels between 60% and 80%. This helps keep spaces warm and comfortable to look at when they are closed off or partially closed off.
Between 50 and 113 microns thick, the UV co-extrusion layer can be put on either side. It doesn't peel or flake when used outside because it is co-extruded instead of surface-coated.

Material & Manufacturing Process
All of the plastic resin used to make each panel is brand new. Imported SABIC or BAYER plastic can be used for projects that need to be very careful about tracking down their materials.
The UV protective layer is put on during co-extrusion, not after the fact as a surface coating. This means that the UV layer is built into the panel from the start, so it protects consistently and doesn't have to worry about coming apart over time.
There is a full range of common colours, and colours can be made to fit the needs of the job.
Application Scenarios
Sunrooms & Enclosed Patios
The panel can hold structural loads in garden umbrellas and sunroom structures when it is 8mm or 10mm thick. Light that is spread out evenly keeps rooms cool without building up too much heat.
Canopies and pergolas for businesses
In park and public transit shelters, the bamboo PC panel cuts down on glare and stops heat from moving below, making the space more comfortable than clear panels.
Partitions inside
In places like offices and hotels, it blocks sound and light and meets Class B1 fire safety standards. It also gives the area a soft, natural look.
Roofing for Eco-Resorts and Hotels
In warm areas with a lot of UV light and high humidity, natural thatch or bamboo roofs often fail from water damage. This panel stays waterproof and keeps its look over time.
Designing the landscape
In ways that normal PC sheets can't, the bamboo shape is great for garden shelters, covered paths, and decorative architectural features.
Quality Control Standards
Sinhai's quality inspection process includes checking the raw materials, watching the production line, and making sure everything is right before shipping. At the final review of the bamboo polycarbonate sheet, four things are looked at:
- UV Layer Thickness—confirmed by examining a cross-section under a microscope (at least 50μm)
- The Falling Dart Impact Method according to ISO 6603-1 was used to test the impact resistance.
- The ASTM G154 accelerated weathering tests measure the yellowing index (YI). The YI must stay below 3 for a simulated 10-year period.
- Checked against ASTM D1003 for blur and clarity of light transmission
The building is certified to ISO 9001:2015. The fire ratings have been checked against GB8624 Class B1 and DIN 4102 B1.
Customization & OEM/ODM Services
For simple sales, standard sheet sizes are offered. CNC cutting, twisting, special-shaped cutting, film sealing, vacuum forming, and thermoforming for solid PC versions can all be done to meet specific needs.
3D design help is part of OEM and ODM services. With more than 70 moulds already made for corrugated and hollow PC products, it's often possible to make custom profiles without having to spend a lot of money on tools.
For standard specifications, orders are usually filled within about 7 days. The production base in Kashgar ships goods to markets in Central Asia in about seven days, with help from local warehouses in Tashkent and Dushanbe.
FAQ
Q1: How does the sheet handle extreme heat?
It withstands temperatures up to 120°C without structural deformation. A 3mm/m expansion gap is recommended during installation to allow for thermal movement.
Q2: Is the bamboo pattern a print or a structural feature?
The bamboo-like appearance comes from the multi-rib panel structure itself, not a printed or applied decorative layer. The profile is formed during extrusion.
Q3: Can the sheet be cold-curved for arched roofs?
Yes. The minimum cold-bending radius is 175 times the sheet thickness. For a 6mm sheet, that is a minimum radius of 1,050mm.
Q4: What cleaning products are safe to use?
Neutral soap and lukewarm water are recommended. Abrasive cleaners or high-alkaline chemicals can damage the co-extruded UV layer and should be avoided.
Q5: What is the fire rating?
Standard production meets GB8624 Class B1 and DIN 4102 B1 flame retardant ratings.
Q6: What is the MOQ?
The minimum order quantity is 500 m². Custom sizes, colors, and material grades are available — contact the team to discuss your project requirements.
