Diamond Embossed Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet — Textured Roofing & Glazing with Built-In UV Defense
The diamond embossed corrugated polycarbonate sheet is produced by Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a manufacturer with more than 30 years of expertise with 25+ manufacturing lines, with an annual output of more than 60,000 tonnes. Each panel is fabricated from 100% virgin polycarbonate, with SABIC or BAYER resin available upon request. The thickness is 2.0–3.0 mm, the effective widths are 840-1050 mm, and a co-extruded UV layer of 50–101 microns blocks 98%–100% of UV light.
What Is a Diamond Embossed Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet?
The "diamond" is a precision-textured design that is pushed into one side of the panel during the extrusion process; the other side remains smooth. This is not for show.
The bumpy surface distributes the sunshine that falls on it . So instead of hard straight sunlight , you get a pleasant , diffuse light . Light transmission is in the 50%–70% range, allowing natural brightness without focused glare or hot spots.
The corrugated profile increases strength. Together, these two properties make the panel suited for industrial roofs, commercial canopies and agricultural greenhouses.

Material & Manufacturing
Diamond embossed corrugated polycarbonate sheet, like all our other panels, begins with 100% fresh virgin polycarbonate. SABIC or BAYER resin may be selected for projects with stringent material documentation requirements.
The UV protection layer is co-extruded, not surface coated, from 50 to 101 microns thick. This technique bonds the protective coating to the panel itself, so it will not peel, chip or wash-off.
Single-face or double-face UV treatment offered as per installation orientation and project demands.
Performance Properties
Polycarbonate corrugated panels are known for their impact resistance. Polycarbonate is much to glass and basic plastic glazing materials in ISO 179 Charpy impact testing.
A 2.0 mm+ panel can take hailstones up to 25 mm diameter at terminal velocity without breaking, in accordance with FM 4473 requirements.
It’s thermally stable from -40°C to +120°C, so the panel won’t flex or shatter in frigid winters or in extreme summer heat.
UL94 V-2 and Class B1 (GB8624-2012) flame retardancy for self-extinguishing performance for commercial and industrial building applications.
The whole face of the panel is waterproofed – a solid, jointless, gapless thermoplastic sheet providing a continuous rain barrier.
Where This Sheet Works Best
The diffuse light from industrial skylights and warehouse roofs decreases glare on workers and cuts down on the need for artificial lighting throughout the day. The corrugated construction is capable of withstanding large snow loads, high velocity winds and exposure to chemical vapours typical of industrial situations.
Commercial Pergolas & Architectural Canopies The diamond design helps to disguise small scratches and dust build-up over time. This profile has the regular demand in West Asia, Hong Kong & South American markets where the looks and impact resistance are equally important
Greenhouses for agriculture: Light-diffusing impact helps plants sensitive to direct sun. The lower leaves of the plant get more uniformly dispersed light, which lowers the chances of the leaves being burnt. The corrugated profile also manages seasonal weather stress.
The broader effective widths – up to 1050mm – lower the amount of seams per roof bay, which helps speed up installation and limit possible leak spots.
Quality Control Process
Every batch is inspected multi-stage before shipment:
- Ultrasonic gauges are used for checking the thickness tolerance across the peaks and valleys of corrugations.
- Energy absorption validation by falling dart impact test per ASTM D5420.
- Spectrophotometer measurement of light transmission and haze analysis to ensure diamond texture conforms to diffusion specs.
- Accelerated weathering (QUV test) Simulates long-term UV exposure. Target yellowing index: Delta E < 10.
- Microscopic cross section investigation confirms continuation of the UV layer.
- Pull-through resistance evaluates fastener performance in high-wind scenarios.
The certifications of these procedures are SGS and ISO 9001:2015.
Customization & Supply Options
The diamond embossed corrugated polycarbonate sheet has adjustable thickness, breadth, colour, UV face count and corrugated profile. Over 70 free moulds are available with OEM/ODM support, and we can CNC cut, bend and craft customised shapes for non-standard project needs.
Normal lead time for standard orders is around 7 days. The Kashgar manufacturing base can provide delivery to the Middle Asia nations within around 7 days for the Central Asia clients. Local help is also provided by regional warehouse resources in Tashkent and Dushanbe.
Logistics options include marine, road and air freight with personnel trained in customs clearance and cross border shipments.
FAQ
Q1: Why choose the diamond embossed finish over standard clear corrugated?
A: The diamond texture creates a distinctive visual effect in sunlight and conceals surface scratches more effectively than a flat clear panel. It also diffuses light to reduce concentrated glare, which a smooth clear sheet does not provide.
Q2: What colors are available?
A: Standard options include transparent, bronze, grey, opal, lake blue, amber, dark blue, silver, orange, and yellow. Custom colors are available on request.
Q3: Is this sheet waterproof?
A: Yes. It is a solid thermoplastic panel with no joints or gaps across its face, making it suitable for use as a continuous rain barrier in roofing, canopies, and covered walkways.
Q4: Which markets use this product most?
A: West Asia, Hong Kong, and South American markets show strong preference for this profile, particularly where both design appearance and impact resistance are purchasing priorities.
Q5: How long does it last?
A: The co-extruded UV layer is tested to maintain clarity with a yellowing index shift of Delta E < 10. Actual service life depends on installation conditions, local climate, and maintenance practice.
Q6: Does rain sound louder on this sheet compared to flat panels?
A: The diamond embossed surface breaks up the impact point of water droplets across the panel face, which can reduce acoustic resonance relative to flat thin plastic sheeting in comparable conditions.
