Solid Polycarbonate Sheet Rolls — Flexible Roofing & Glazing Solution for Large-Scale Projects
When a roofing or glass job covers dozens of meters, hard flat panels have to be joined together at some point. Each of these seams is a possible place for water to get in and heat to build up. By providing a continuous format with lengths of 30m or 50m per roll, solid polycarbonate sheet rolls directly address this issue, minimising mid-span joints and streamlining on-site installation. These rolls are made by Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which has more than 30 years of experience making polycarbonate products and more than 25 production bases and lines. They are used for roofing, skylights, sound barriers, and large-area glazing.
What Are Solid Polycarbonate Sheet Rolls?
For smaller jobs, standard flat polycarbonate panels work fine, but they need to be changed for long-span roofing, curved skylights, and large-area glazing. There are many transverse joints across the span of rigid flat sheets. Each one is a possible leak point and a point of thermal expansion stress.
Solid polycarbonate sheet rolls are available in a continuous format with lengths of 30 or 50 meters that can be cut to fit your container or project. Less joins mean faster fitting and less risk at the points where the pieces meet. Thin sizes (0.95–3.0 mm) also roll up small, which makes them easier to ship than hard plates that are too big.

Key Technical Features
Resistance to impact. These sheets have a high impact value of 850 J/m while still being much lighter than glass. This is helpful for placements above ground where both handling and structural load are important.
UV protection that is co-extruded. It's not a surface coating; the 50εm UV layer is put on during extrusion. It stops UV rays below 380nm and has an anti-UV rate of 98% to 100%, which means it keeps your eyes clear even after years of being in the sun.
A wide range of temperatures for service. With a temperature range of -40°C to +120°C, these rolls stay the same size in a lot of different conditions and installation settings.
able to be cold-bent on site. The smallest radius for cold bending is 175 times the thickness of the sheet. For example, a 2mm sheet can be bent to a 350mm radius on-site without the need for heating tools. This makes it possible to make barrel vaults and curved canopies right from the roll.
Fairly simple fabrication. Round saws with fine teeth, shears, CNC routers, and drills can all be used on these sheets. Trimming and making changes on-site don't need any special tools.
Typical Applications
Roofing and canopies for businesses. The roll format goes over long distances without any transverse joints. This cuts down on the number of exposed points where water and thermal expansion stress tend to build up.
There are sound barriers for roads and trains. With continuous roll lengths, there are fewer places where the rolls can be connected, which helps keep the installation's sound quality.
Skylights and walkways in a barrel vault. In places like shopping mall rotundas, agricultural greenhouses, and covered commercial walkways, where curved profiles are needed without extra fabrication steps, sheets that are cold-curved from the roll are used.
Several other uses. There are awnings, machine guards, walls, signs, light boxes, and daylighting strips.
Quality Control
Every Solid polycarbonate sheet rolls is checked three times: when the raw materials are brought in, while it is being made, and again before it is delivered.
The thickness stays the same along the whole length of the roll, to within ±0.05mm. This is important for long-span installations that need consistent structural performance.
To make sure the 50εm standard is met, microscopic cross-section analysis is used to check the thickness of the UV layer on every production batch.
There are inspection records for the key factors mentioned in the standard table above that come with every package.
Customization & OEM/ODM Options
It is possible to specify the following parameters:
- From 0.95 mm to 23 mm thick
- Width: 1220, 1560, 1830, or 2100 mm (special lengths can be made upon request)
- Clear, lake blue, grass green, opal, bronze, and grey.
- UV layer thickness: can be changed to fit the needs of the project
- CNC cutting, bending, special-shaped cutting, vacuum forming, thermoforming, and film finishing are some of the processing services we offer.
Orders of standard colours are sent out in 7–15 business days. Custom colours usually take 15–20 working days, but quicker times can be arranged if there is room in the production schedule at the time of the order.
Packaging & Logistics
Rolls are protected with PE film and then put on wooden boxes or in crates to be shipped. Roll lengths are cut to fit the container they are going to, which cuts down on waste on-site and makes planning for incoming supplies easier.
Sea freight, road freight, and air freight are all ways to ship goods. As part of the normal fulfilment process, the export team takes care of the customs paperwork.
FAQ
Q: What material and thickness options are available?
A: All rolls use 100% virgin polycarbonate resin sourced from Bayer or Sabic. Roll-form thicknesses run from 0.95mm to 3.0mm. The full flat-sheet range extends to 23mm, with common increments at 1.5 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12mm. Maximum width is 2,100mm; length is cut to order.
Q: Which side should face the sun?
A: Install the UV-protected side facing outward. This side is clearly marked on the protective film. Reversing the sheet exposes the unprotected surface to UV and accelerates surface degradation.
Q: What is the minimum cold-bending radius?
A: The standard minimum is 175x the sheet thickness. A 2mm sheet can be curved to a 350mm radius on site without any heating equipment.
Q: How should thermal expansion be managed in long installations?
A: Polycarbonate expands at approximately 0.065 mm/m°C. Use oversized fixing holes and EPDM gaskets to allow for natural movement and prevent buckling or stress cracking over time.
Q: Can thickness, width, length, and color be customized?
A: Yes — all four parameters are adjustable. Standard colors ship in 7–15 working days; custom colors require 15–20 working days.
Q: What cleaning products are safe to use?
A: Use neutral detergents with a soft cloth only. Alkaline cleaners, abrasive pads, and solvent-based products damage the UV coating and reduce optical clarity.
