Product Description

Multiwall Hollow Corrugated PC Sheet Insulated Roof Panel

When industrial buildings require daylighting and thermal comfort, the choice of roofing panel is more important than most purchasers realise. This multiwall hollow corrugated pc sheet insulated roof panel has a corrugated exterior profile and a 2-layer hollow air chamber that allows natural light to pass through but restricts heat transmission. Manufactured by Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. It is made of 100% virgin polycarbonate resin. The thickness is 2-3 mm. It may be immediately laid on the standard steel purlins with existing metal roofing sheets.

How It Works: Corrugated Form Meets Hollow Insulation

A regular solid corrugated sheet will let the light in but does very little to stop the heat. The multiwall hollow corrugated pc sheet insulated roof panel bridges the gap by trapping a static air column between two polycarbonate walls. Still air is a poor conductor of heat, so this cavity between two walls slows the passage of heat in either way — limiting solar heat gain in the summer and keeping heat in during the winter.

The corrugated geometry is precisely produced for conventional industrial metal roofing profiles. This means the panel fits flat against sandwich panels and steel sheets, sealing the seam without specific construction. For ordinary steel-purlin constructions, profile adaption is not required.

UV protection layer is co-extruded at 50-104 microns on one or both sides. This prevents UV radiation reaching the base polymer and reduces yellowing and surface deterioration over time.

Material and Manufacturing

Each panel begins with 100% virgin polycarbonate resin. Imported SABIC or BAYER resin may be provided on demand for projects that need traceability of premium-grade raw materials.

The UV layer is co-extruded and permanently bonded to the surface of the sheet, rather than being applied as a separate coating. The thickness used in this method is 50-104 microns and it may be put on one or both sides depending on the project needs.

The corrugated profile is produced to fit conventional industrial roofing wave sizes. Therefore we have a panel that can be installed into existing steel buildings without the need for profile specific adapters or extra framework.

Performance Properties

The 2-layer hollow structure creates a U-value range of 1.2–2.5 W/m²K which is lower than that of single-layer corrugated sheets and of importance in buildings where the stability of interior temperature is important for either worker comfort or stored products.

The panel is designed to withstand temperature ranges from -40°C to +120°C without any deformation. This temperature range covers cold area winters and high heat industrial roof situations. It is flame retardant and self-extinguishing, i.e. it will not sustain combustion or contribute to the spread of fire under normal building safety test settings.

Where glare from direct sunlight is a problem, such as on assembly floors or packing lines, opal and other diffusing colour variations spread the incoming light out across a larger angle, smoothing shadows and decreasing eye strain without limiting the advantage of sunshine.

Where This Panel Is Used

Heavy industrial facilities -- Large-span, steel-structure buildings utilise longitudinal skylight strips wherever corrugated metal roofing is already placed. The panel matches the profile of the adjacent metal sheets, thus the junction is weather-tight and there is no need for supplementary framing.

Commercial agricultural greenhouses In high-latitude or high-altitude growth situations, the hollow air chamber offers thermal buffering which helps to stabilise nocturnal temperatures. An optional anti-drip coating on the inside face prevents condensation leaking on to crops.

Public infrastructure and transport hubs – railway station canopies and covered walkways require multiwall hollow corrugated pc sheet insulated roof panel that are resistant to wind stress, possible hail damage, and can yet provide diffused natural light. The hollow corrugated construction addresses all three needs, without the weight penalty of glass.

Pergolas, canopies and carports – The 2 to 3 mm profile keeps the weight of the panel low, vital for residential and light commercial shade structures where the supporting framework has restricted load capability.

Quality Control

Every manufacturing batch is inspected in stages before it is sent.

  • UV layer thickness measurement - Cross section microscopy verifies the co-extruded layer is in the required 50-104 micron range.
  • Accelerated weathering (Q-SUN) — Yellowness Index change (ΔYI) less than 2 units during the simulated 10-year exposure period.
  • Falling Dart Impact Test – Energy absorption is confirmed for each panel thickness.
  • Tensile and flexural strength testing—confirms that the corrugated rib shape accommodates the prescribed snow and wind loads.
  • Thermal cycling study – Tests the durability of co-extruded layer adhesion throughout many temperature swings to detect any danger of delamination before goods leave the plant.

Customization and Supply

We have 70+ existing moulds for corrugated profiles so we can match most typical industrial roofing wave dimensions without tooling expenditures . OEM and ODM services include CNC cutting, film coating, bending and special-shaped cutting.

Available in translucent, bronze, grey, opal, lake blue, amber, dark blue, silver, orange and yellow. Custom colours available on order.

Standard orders ship in roughly 7 days. The manufacturing location in Kashgar will cut truck travel time to Central Asian markets to around 7 days. Regional distribution assistance is provided by warehouse resources in Tashkent and Dushanbe when reduced lead times are a necessity.

Shipments are sent by boat, truck or air depending on destination with logistical assistance for customs clearance and cross border paperwork.

FAQ

Q1: What’s the real difference between this panel and a solid corrugated polycarbonate sheet?

A: Main structural difference is the hollow air chamber. A good corrugated sheet let the light through yet has very little barrier to heat transmission. The air column sealed within the device decreases that transmission. This is important in any structure where the interior temperature impacts either human comfort or process needs.

Q2: How can I keep the hollow chambers from filling up with humidity and debris?

A: Seal the open ends of the hollow chambers with anti-dust vented tape before attaching U-profiles or end flashings. It enables the sheet to breathe naturally, expelling moisture, yet keeping out dust, insects and wetness.

Q3: What is the minimum roof pitch on this panel?

A: Suggested slope is 5-10 degrees or more. This allows rain water to drain to the eaves and eliminates ponding in the wave valleys which might cause leaking at fastening points over a period of time.

Q4: If the fastening screws are over-tightened, may the hollow walls be crushed?

A: Yes. Always install at the top of the corrugation wave and use polycarbonate washers with EPDM backing. These disperse the clamping force across a larger surface area, protecting the hollow wall structure and sealing the piercing site .

Q5: How to deal with thermal expansion in installation?

A: Pre-drill fixing holes 2-3 mm bigger than the screw shank diameter. The enlarged hole provides for the thermal expansion coefficient of 0.065 mm/m°C and enables the sheet to move a little beneath the washer when temperatures vary, thereby minimising the danger of buckling or cracking near fastening points.

Q6: How does long term performance compare to FRP panels?

A: FRP panels are susceptible to fibre bloom and noticeable yellowing after only a few years of UV exposure . This panel has a co-extruded UV layer to reduce that deterioration. The device has a 10-20 year guarantee based on the specifications specified.
