Lychee Embossed Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet for Roofing & Canopies
Baoding Sinhai Sunboard Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is specialised in manufacturing lychee embossed corrugated polycarbonate sheet in 3 plants with more than 30 special lines and the output is more than 60, 000 tonnes per year. The surface texture is granular, like lychee skin, which breaks up the incoming light and eliminates intense glare. The corrugated structural design helps disperse wind and snow loads throughout the span. Each sheet has a thickness of 0.75 mm to 3.0 mm with a co-extruded layer of UV resistant technology, 50–103 microns, immediately incorporated into the surface during manufacture.
What Is a Lychee Embossed Corrugated Polycarbonate Sheet?
This lychee embossed corrugated polycarbonate sheet is a thermoplastic roofing and cladding panel for use in enclosed or semi-enclosed areas where glare from direct solar radiation or visual privacy is an issue.
The surface mimics the skin of a lychee — an uneven, grainy texture that scatters incoming light rays, creating gentle, diffused lighting rather than focused beams. The roughness also helps to hide tiny surface scratches and limit the visibility of dust build-up, compared to smooth corrugated sheets – excellent for high-traffic or metropolitan situations where frequent cleaning is not feasible.

Performance Characteristics
Structural load distribution
The profile is corrugated to spread wind and snow loads throughout the sheet span. It may be specified between 0.75 and 3.0 mm thickness, depending on the project’s needs - lighter gauges for residential canopies, heavier gauges for industrial roofs.
Diffused light;
The lychee grain gives a larger surface area for scattering of light. Light transmission varies from 45% to 75% depending on colour and thickness. It provides natural sunshine without intense glare.
Temperature range
From −40 °C to +120 °C the sheet does not distort or become brittle, making it appropriate for use in cold-climate and high-temperature applications.
Fire behaviour
Class B1 / UL94 V-2 refers to the sheet being self-extinguishing and will not generate burning droplets when exposed to a flame source. This is an important factor for public buildings and covered pathways.
UV-Protection
The UV resistant layer is co-extruded (fused into the surface during manufacture) at 50-103 microns as opposed to a subsequent coating. This process is part of our 10 year limited guarantee for yellowing and loss of gearbox.
Typical Applications
Industrial skylights and warehouse roofing
Even glare-free daylighting is good for large logistical facilities and factory floors. Daylight operations do not rely as much on artificial illumination, since there is diffused natural light.
Botanical gardens and commercial greenhouses
The pattern of diffused light distributes sunlight more uniformly over the plant canopy layers compared to clear glazing, decreasing the likelihood of localised leaf burn in sensitive species.
Public canopies, stations for public transportation and bus shelters
The corrugated shape resists wind and snow loads. The lychee surface texture decreases the appearance of dust and small scratches, allowing it to stay cleaner with little effort over time.
Pergolas, awnings and carports for the home
The textured surface gives a stylish finish to outdoor living structures at lighter thicknesses, managing shadow and heat under the panel.
Quality Control
Each batch of production is examined before being sent out.
100% virgin raw material. Verified virgin resin content. Mixing recycled material will diminish impact resistance and increase surface embrittlement. Incoming resin is evaluated before to extrusion. SABIC and Bayer resin are provided as optional specifications.
Uniformity of texture is evaluated to assure even lychee grain density over the width of the sheet affecting directly the evenness of light dispersion in the installed panel.
ASTM G154 accelerated weathering tests evaluating colour change (ΔE) and Yellowing Index after over 1,000 hours of UV exposure. The sheet thickness and the height of the corrugations are measured with precision callipers to a tolerance of ±0.05 mm. Impact absorption is tested using the conventional process via the falling ball method.

Packaging and Logistics
PE film is used to cover both sides of the sheets before palletising on wooden pallets for container loading. Logistics choices include maritime freight, land transport and air transportation.
Shipments to most foreign destinations are served by Tianjin port. The Kashgar manufacturing facility serves Central Asian orders, with land shipment to Middle Asian nations taking around 7 days. Regional inventory in Tashkent and Dushanbe accelerates delivery to local markets.
FAQ
Q: How does the lychee texture compare to other embossed patterns?
A: The uneven lychee-skin design diffuses light and lowers picture clarity more fully than the usual diamond or mini-wave patterns. This makes it a good option for situations where visual seclusion is required, such as covered passageways, changing spaces or dense commercial projects.
Q: Does it make a difference in cleaning and upkeep, the texture?
A: The embossed design is normally on the underside of the fitted roof panel. The top face is exposed to weather and stays smooth, so any rain will naturally wash any dirt down the corrugation channels. Surface maintenance needs are usually equal to or less than those for flat frosted panels.
Q: What are suggested fasteners and setup details?
A: Standard screws will do, but use EPDM bonded washers to provide a waterproof seal at each attachment point. Drill holes 2–3 mm bigger than the screw diameter to allow for thermal expansion. The minimum radius of the cold curve for bending on site is 175 times the thickness of the sheet to minimise stress cracking.
Q: What are my shipping options?
A: From Tianjin port, most worldwide routes are covered. From the Kashgar base to locations in Central Asia, it takes around 7 days of ground transportation. Call us with your location for a detailed logistical quote.
Q: Can this sheet be used in hot climates?
A: The sheet is rated to +120°C and has been delivered to clients in high-temperature locations such as North Africa and the Middle East. In such settings, performance has reached predicted standards based on the rated operating temperature range.
