Polycarbonate Skylight Sheet for Roofing & Daylighting
Skylight glass material affects light and building durability. Polycarbonate skylight sheet manufactured from 100% new Bayer or Sabic resin permits 60%–85% of light through, blocks 98%–100% of UV light, and has an impact strength of 850 J/m. It may be cut to any length, has a maximum width of 2.5 m, and thicknesses of 4 to 25 mm. It may be flat, dome, or arched for industrial, commercial, and residential constructions.
Why This Sheet Is Formulated for Skylight Use?
Skylights should not employ multipurpose polycarbonate sheet. Skylights are stressed by UV exposure, hail damage, wind uplift, condensation on inner surfaces, and seasonal temperature variations. This product fixes all those issues at the material and output levels.
A 50-micron co-extruded layer bonds to the sheet during extrusion. This layer inhibits UV. UV radiation below 380 nm causes polycarbonate to become yellow and become more frail. This layer blocks it. Co-extrusion adds a film, but this sheet structure incorporates the UV layer. This prevents peeling and degradation.
The material performs well in fire. GB 8624 and UL94 V-2 classify the sheet as B1, meaning it can extinguish fires and restrict flame spread under normal test circumstances.

Application Areas
With sawtooth and monitor roof patterns, stores and factories can get regular natural light and protection from chemicals. Using less artificial lighting during work hours is a common reason why polycarbonate skylight sheet is chosen for these kinds of projects.
For commercial infrastructure like sports stadiums, airports, transit hubs, and shopping mall atriums, long-span glazing is needed to withstand heavy wind and snow loads. With full-sheet supply at up to 2.5 m width, there are fewer joints, which makes waterproofing easier and lowers the risk of long-term maintenance.
Residential and agricultural: Commercial greenhouse owners use multiwall models to control photosynthesis-related radiation (PAR) for plant growth and heat loss. As a result, the sheet's impact resistance and anti-drip inner surface keep condensation drops from falling onto people or equipment below, which is useful for residential sunrooms and garage shelters in places where hail or snow is common.
Quality Control
Three times are included in the inspection of each batch: when the raw materials are received, when the production is in progress, and before the shipment.
Testing for yellowing index (YI) and light transmission loss is done using ASTM G154 and G155 protocols for accelerated weathering. For long-term performance evaluation, these tests mimic long-term UV exposure. Impact resistance is tested with falling-ball and hail simulations. An acceptable level of penetration or breaking is set at zero.
Each sheet meets the structural requirements for its rated load-bearing purpose after thickness and rib shape measurements are taken. Findings of tensile strength and stretch show that the material can withstand heat expansion and contraction over its working life without breaking down due to stress.
Customization and Project Support
Customisations can be made to the sheet's sizes, colours, finishes, and corrugation patterns to meet their specific needs. Sheet form can be customised to fit the installation's structural and aesthetic needs thanks to its more than 70 corrugation mould choices and full OEM and ODM capabilities.
Included in every order are free node design drawings, waterproofing details, screw layout plans, and information on the thermal expansion gap. Most of the time, incorrect gap sizing leads to buckling or joint failure in climates with big changes in temperature, so these documents are very important for installations in those areas.
For the polycarbonate skylight sheet, video walkthroughs and text instructions are automatically provided for remote installation. On-site support is offered for big jobs.

FAQ
Q: What thickness and frame types are available?
A: Thickness ranges from 4 to 25 mm. The maximum sheet width is 2.5 m, and length is cut to your specified dimension. The sheet is compatible with steel, aluminium, and timber structural frames. Node drawings are included with each order.
Q: Will the sheet yellow over time?
A: Sheets with a co-extruded 50-micron UV layer are warranted against significant yellowing for 10–20 years. Performance is evaluated under ASTM D1003 for light transmission and ASTM G154/G155 for accelerated UV weathering.
Q: How should thermal expansion be managed during installation?
A: Polycarbonate expands and contracts more than metal under temperature change. Correct installation requires pre-drilled oversized holes and calculated expansion gaps. Gap dimensions and screw layout drawings specific to your sheet thickness and climate zone are provided at no charge.
Q: Can condensation inside multiwall sheets be controlled?
A: Multiwall versions include an anti-drip coating on the interior channel surfaces. This coating modifies surface tension so that condensation spreads as a thin film rather than forming droplets, preventing water from falling onto people or equipment below.
Q: What installation documentation is provided?
A: Free node design drawings, waterproofing details, screw layout plans, and thermal expansion gap specifications are included with every order. Video guidance and remote technical support are available throughout the installation process.
Q: What skylight types does this sheet support?
A: Supported applications include roof skylights, light wells, pergola canopies, carports, atrium daylighting systems, and stadium roofing. The sheet has been tested for hail resistance and wind loading in line with the performance requirements of these use cases.
